The WHIG research project (“What is Governed in Cities? Residential Investment Landscapes and the Governance and Regulation of Housing Production”) hosted an online policy session to present and discuss preliminary research findings on Amsterdam, London and Paris to invited policy makers and academics.
Dr. Sara Özogul presented the ongoing work of the WHIG Amsterdam team, which consists of UGoveRN members Prof. Dr. Tuna Tasan-Kok, Andre Legarza and herself. Her presentation foused on property investment trends in the Metropolitan Region Amsterdam, and the complex, multilayered regulatory framework that tries to shape and regulate investor behaviour.
Following presentations by Prof. Dr. Mike Raco on London, and Prof. Dr. Patrick Le Gales, Dr. Nordine Kierche and Dr. Pierre-Henri Bono n Paris, invited policy discussants Johan van Zoest (Senior Policy Advisor, Municipality of Amsterdam), Jennifer Peters (Divisional Director, Planning and Building Control at London Borough of Tower Hamlets) and Stéphane Lecler (Director of Urban Planning, Paris City Hall) provided their feedback.
